We will remember
Sunday services
This morning we will echo the words of thousands of people around the world as we say, "We will remember them", but what or who are we remembering?
Remembrance Day reminds us of the sacrifices made by those who serve in times of war, we honour and pay tribute to those who selflessly served their countries, protecting our freedom and values. We remember all the soldiers who fought and died for our freedom and we ensure that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
Today also serves as a reminder of the importance of peace and unity. It encourages us to strive for a world where conflicts are resolved through dialogue and understanding rather than violence. It helps us to work towards a future were the sacrifices of the past are not in vain.
Today and everyday we remember the ultimate sacrifice paid by our Lord. He came to fight our war, to bring us freedom and die in our place. Greater love has no man than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)
We continue to pray for all those serving in our armed forces, for the horrors of war they are faced with and the sacrifices they are making. We pray for the many casualties of war and conflict, for the children, those displaced from their homes and those who have lost loved ones. Lord, bring your peace to our world.
